What are the Steps Involved in Extruded Acrylic Sheet Process?

Extruded Clear Acrylic Sheet is produced by an extrusion process, Acrylic resin pellets are heated to a molten mass which is continuously pushed.once through the die,the molten mass losses temperature and can be trimmed and cut to the required sheet sizes, the detialed process as following:

1, Raw material

100% virgin pellets to guarantee the product quality at the beginning of process

2, Feeding

The pellets are fed from a containment silo to a feed hopper above an extruder line

3, Hot Melding

As the pellets progress through the heated zones of the extruder barrel which are driven through by a single screw auger system the heat increase until the pellets melt into a molten mass.

4, Extruding & Molding

The molten mass is pushed forward into a conical/cone shaped die,then pass through sets of cooling rollers, which may emboss a pattern/finish onto the sheet as it cools or may just produce a standard gloss/smooth finish

5, Checking

Sheet can be made in a variety of thickness depending on how much space is between the dye, and need to be checked thickness tolerance to control it within acceptable range.

6, Masking

The sheet progresses down the haul off line until it become solid and cooled sufficiently to be applied the Protective Film to avoid be scratched or contaminated from the coming process

7, Cutting

The masked sheet to be edge trimmed, cut to the final finished length required.

8, Stacking

Finally the sheets are palletized and wrapped for dispatch
